2021

Stage Renovations

An update on the ongoing renovation of our bandstand, with generous help from MJS joinery, Winvic Construction, SPIE, Tarin Engineering, Kier Construction, Fusion21, LIVV, & EBM electrics.

Raised Bed Preparation

Our volunteers and apprentices made quick work of these new raised beds, which are now ready for new crops to be planted.

James Bond Themed Community Day

Michael and Pete planned a James Bond themed day to serve as a break from the usual community days and a way to make things more fun and exciting for everyone involved, even one of our apprentices joined in.

Livv Housing Volunteering

A group of apprentices with Livv Housing came on site to see what we do here, whilst also painting and renovating the sheltered bench for community day attendees, volunteers and staff alike. 

Gate Bell Installation

EBM Electrical and Winvic Construction kindly came on site to install digital bells to alert us when people are at the front gate without having to call. This will benefit many members of the community and we hope it will make the allotment more accessible.

Steve Rotherham

Metro Mayor Steve Rotherham came to visit the allotment and was shown around site.

Accessibility and Utility Progress

Workers from Fusion21, KIER Construction, SPIE and Winvic Construction continued to generously contribute their services, with electrical installations, water irrigation and flood lights all being installed in the same day.

Counsellors and Police Visit

Roby and Swanside Councillors helped to harvest tomatoes and other veg from the tunnel, meanwhile, Merseyside Police provided new raised beds for us to set up and grow even more. 

Apprentices and ArtsGroupie

Our apprentices from the Kickstart programme getting accustomed to the Incredible Edible Knowsley lifestyle. We also had a visit from a partner group who we worked with to produce our Horti-Culture course, ArtsGroupieCIC.

Outdoor Kitchen

The Fire Brigade of the Wirral donated lots of catering equipment. One of our volunteers was very pleased to be able to serve hot food.

Community Food Club Open

Our community food club became open to the public, fully stacked and ready for our first members .

Men's Hive Volunteering

A number of men from Flourish and Succeed’s Men’s Hive group have begun to volunteer, helping out with manual labour and horticultural tasks.

New Poly Tunnel

Our newest poly tunnel is fully built and ready for raised beds to be installed, thanks to our volunteers and apprentices.

Community Food Shop Prep

Spirits are high and everyone at Incredible Edible was proud of our progress as our shelves and baskets are set up, ready to be stocked with food for the community.

2020

Christmas Woodwork

There was a woodwork fever spreading amongst Incredible Edible Knowsley at Christmas, with Danny creating a wooden reindeer and bob making a wooden Christmas tree. And, as a bonus, our bird feeder was refurbished and fixed by Alan.

Pumpkin Donations and Carving

Of our massive pumpkin harvest, we donated many to the Big Help Project, though we did keep some to ourselves to create jack-o-lanterns.

Autumn Leaf Blowing

Nina from Myerscough College along with a group of our volunteers on their horticulture course having fun with leaf blowers after the Autumn leaves had fallen.

MySpex Installation

With the help of our volunteers, a walkway was created from the main gate to the indoor area, with a flower wall running paralle.

Carpet Laying

Horizon Carpets came to put carpets in place for our volunteer room and office space.

Harvesting Time

A massive harvest of courgettes, cucumbers, tomatoes, beans, onions, peppers, shallots and squash was donated to the big help project with the help of councillor Graham Morgan and our kind volunteers.

Pumpkin Growth and Flowers

Our pumpkins showed great growth and looked healthy, meanwhile our flowers were also growing well.

Incredible Edible MyClubmoor Visit

A visit from a fellow Incredible Edible put a smile on everyone’s face and we got some good work done.

Raised Bed Preparation

An incredibly productive day on the allotment with 17 raised beds being set up, filled and readied for seedling growth.

Event Dome

Pete led a team in trying out our new event dome  on a very hot day. A lot of tidying was also done to the allotment.
